Join the Capital City Ringnecks for a Hands-on Habitat Day in southern Shawnee County on a WIHA property! This is a great opportunity to roll up your sleeves and make a direct impact on wildlife habitat in the area.
We’ll be tackling invasive and unwanted woody cover, including hedge and locust trees, using chainsaws and loppers. KDWP will be providing the herbicide as part of the project. Improving these areas helps create better conditions for upland birds and other wildlife.
The chapter will provide water, Gatorade, and lunch—just bring your work gloves, a strong back, and any equipment you’re willing to use (chainsaws, loppers, etc.). Participants are strongly encouraged to bring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, chaps, eye protection, and hearing protection.
Please download, print, and bring a completed participant waiver with you.
