Kansas Prairie Women on the Wing – Ladies Camping Trip & Volunteer Day

Join us for a fun weekend of camping, volunteering, and outdoor time!

Saturday:
Arrive by 10:30 AM if you’d like to ride the tram to see the wild bison herds ($16.20 per person, cards accepted). Otherwise, arrive around 12:30 PM. After the tram ride, we’ll have lunch, then begin our workday, starting with staining signs and helping with other projects for Friends of Maxwell. Evening includes relaxing around the campfire.

Sunday:
We’ll enjoy a wildflower plant ID nature walk, have lunch, and head out after.

Open to ages 11+ (Girls under 18 must have an adult). Spots are limited, join us for a great mix of work and fun outdoors!

Ladies Camping Trip & Volunteer Day

Important Details:

  • Meals are on your own—please bring all food, drinks, snacks, and campfire treats
  • A grill is available for use
  • Bring camping gear (tent, bedding, chairs, etc.)
  • Bathrooms, water, and electricity are available (no shower facilities)
  • Feel free to bring yard or camping games to share
  • A natural beehive is near the camping area—please plan accordingly if you have allergies

Age Requirements:
Open to girls ages 11 and up. Girls ages 11–18 must be accompanied by an adult.
